Networking Fiasco!

I?ve been trying to get a good handle on Facebook Networking over the last couple months.? To say ?it?s a skill to find the right handle to grab? is an understatement!? It is not nearly as simple or easy as you might think. The techniques aren?t difficult but the time it takes to implement and manage them is over the edge!

The Facebook Maze has you running around trying to?

• Post every day,? ?3 ? 7 times a day!
• Post at different times of the day to see when you get the most action!
• Review your Facebook Insights to figure out what is most popular!
• Watch the trends!
• Encourage interaction by asking questions, add a quiz, run a contest!
• Make it interesting ? share something of value!
• Check your Insights (Oh no! You need 30 LIKES first!)
• Promote a Post (Oh no!? You need 400 LIKES and costs $$$)
• Make an Offer (Oh no! You need 400 LIKES + Promote a Post and $$$)

?

Damn!? Can we get a life too while we?re at it, huh???

Skip the Facebook Maze and Hire A Social Media Expert!

Try this Facebook thing for a month and you?ll understand why people run out and hire a Social Media Expert (like my friend Yusuf Chowdhury? at Online Business Owners) to get the job done for them!

What about the newbies just getting started with their online business?? What do you recommend for them?

The most recent murky mess in the way Facebook calculates total reach -? sealed the deal!? If Mari Smith can?t see her way out of this newest ?upgrade? without doubling her efforts, I don?t see much hope for me.

?Clearly, I may need to a) increase post volume, b) mix up the time of day even more, and c) pay for more Promoted Posts and Sponsored Stories.?? Mari Smith

If you?re not in a position to hire an expert and find yourself backed into a corner, maybe getting your exercise running circles inside the Facebook Maze isn?t for you either.

Now, I did NOT say I was dumping Facebook!? I just don?t need all that exercise right now so I?m adopting the laid back approach and maybe I?ll just jump on that lonely treadmill behind me!

Getting Lost In The Facebook Maze!

There are millions of people out there trying to beat the Facebook Maze but to what end?? As soon as you?re close to ?getting it right? they add another pathway or dimension to the challenge.?

I DO like challenges and this is all well and good if YOU are the Social Media Expert and this is your business!? But? should you be spending your time and effort elsewhere?

So, it?s back to basics for me. After all, how can you ever get your business up and running, spreading like wildfire across the wired tentacles of the internet if you?re mired in the muck of a Facebook Maze?

What are the basics??

For me they are the following:

1. Create your personal profile ? set up security features and learn the backside of Facebook.
2. Invite friends, family, and acquaintances.
3. Interact and engage in conversation.
4. LIKE businesses you actually like ? no LIKE for LIKE here!?? (WHY?? You can?t engage with a business page in which you have absolutely no interest ? so why LIKE?? You are doing them a disservice!)
5. Create your Business Page for your business.? Learn enough to keep you active.
6. LIKE Pages where you can interact and engage in conversations by commenting, ask questions, and provide feedback.
7. Avoid the numbers game (LIKES, seen by, interacted, shared, virility, etc.)? Getting caught up in the numbers can negatively affect your business and how you spend your time.? Do what you can ? then hire someone to do the rest when the time is right!
8. Focus on your core business!? The Facebook Maze keeps you focused on Facebook!

So, that?s it!? Short, sweet and saves one helluva lot of time!
